CE - Directive 2014/53/EU (RED)

INTERCERT Global sp. z o.o. as Notified Body NB 2957 carries out conformity assessment of products according to Module B in accordance with the essential requirements of Directive 2014/53/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 16, 2014. on the harmonization of the laws of the Member States relating to the making available on the market of radio equipment and repealing Directive 1999/5/EC, taking into account Directive (EU) 2022/2380 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 November 2022 amending Directive 2014/53/EU on the harmonization of the laws of the Member States relating to the making available on the market of radio equipment.

Both RED Directives have been implemented into Polish law by regulations of the Minister of Digitization:

  • dated June 17, 2016 on the assessment of compliance of radio equipment with the requirements (Journal of Laws, item 878).
  • dated October 15, 2024 on enabling the charging of devices via a USB type C socket (Journal of Laws, item 1515)

The RED Directive applies to radio equipment, that is, an electrical or electronic product that intentionally emits or receives radio waves for the purpose of radiocommunication or radiolocation, or an electrical or electronic product that must be supplemented with an additional component, such as an antenna, in order to intentionally emit or receive radio waves for the purpose of radiocommunication or radiolocation.

The conformity assessment process has been developed based on the requirements of PN-EN ISO/IEC 17065 and consists of 6 key stages, i.e.:
